Practice Times, Location and Fees
All practices are held at the Lynden Skateway. Times are as follows:
- Sunday: 11:00a-1:00p
- Thursday: 5:30p-7:00p
Dues
Dues are $50 per month and $25 for siblings, $10 for a drop in. If scheduling conflicts exist that prohibit a skater from making all practices regularly please let us know and we may be able to make special arrangements.
NEW SKATER TRAINING TWICE A YEAR
Twice per year (early fall and in the new year) we offer a new skater training program for kids to learn the basics of roller skating and roller derby. Email subduedcityrollers@gmail.com for more information.
Gear Requirements
Roller derby is a full-contact sport, therefore we require full gear to participate in practice. This includes:
- Skates
- Helmet
- Kneepads
- Wrist guards
- Elbow pads
- Mouth Guard
If skaters don't have their own skates, rentals are available at the Lynden Skateway for $3 per practice. If you're interested in buying skates, the Lynden Skateway does have skates available for purchase. You can also check out Roller Derby Skate Shop, RollerGirl.ca or Bruise Boutique
You can also purchase safety gear at Lynden Skateway or head over to Unknown Boardshop in downtown Bellingham. Roller Derby Skate Shop, RollerGirl.ca, and Bruise Boutique also sell juniors gear.
